Wilkinson Sword DE Razor Blade Review

Wilkinson Sword DE Razor Blade Review

Four shaves with the Kroger store brand double edge razor blade was enough, so I dropped that DE blade in the blade bank and decided to try the Wilkinson Sword razor blade in my trusty Edwin Jagger DE89.  (Maybe I’ll swap it to the Wilkinson Sword Classic Double Edge Safety Razor after another day in the DE 89?)

Double Edge Razor Blade Review – Wilkinson Sword DE razor blade

0)   Initial impressions –

This thing makes a lot of scraping noises when you shave with it!

1) User Interface – what does the shave feel like during the shave

Not particularly smooth, but not terribly rough, either.  I don’t think this is a particularly sharp razor blade.

2)   Quality of Service – how good of a shave did I get

One pass wasn’t enough, but adding a quick XTG pass made for a pretty good shave.

3)   Hack factor – did it seem to make me nick myself, or was it smooth sailing?

No nicks, but boy did the Alum block sting after the XTG pass!  Especially down on the neck.

4)   Useful service life – how many shaves did I get out of the blade?

Three shaves and I was ready to move on…

Next up, the ultra-economical Dorco Stainless double edge razor blade
